FAQ
General
Q: What ports do I need open for gaming?
Age of Mythology
Q: I'm having trouble connecting to an Age of Mythology game... what do I do?
A: Make a shortcut to your AOM game and add this to the target line:
AddressServer="repeater.aom.eso.com"
This will let ESO's servers work their firewall magic for you... it's worked in every scenario we've tried so far...
Motocross Madness 2
Q: Where do I save VCR files I download from the site?
A: In the RECORD folder under your base Motocross Madness 2 folder
default is: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Motocross Madness 2\
Q: When I launch
MCM2
it drops me back out to Windows before hitting the Main Menu.
(this symptom may or may not display an error.)
A: You are most likely playing on an XP system that is missing the Indeo Video Codec necessary
to play the introduction video (which rocks and features the killer Incubus song, "New Skin".)
It was initially taken out of XP, and later put back in, available via a Windows Update download.
However, you can also
download the Indeo codec from the FNG site.
Q: Does the Xplosiv version of
Motocross Madness 2
contain spyware, like the third-party distribution of Motocross Madness?
A: I own both a Microsoft published MCM2 and a Xplosiv copy of the game.
I was worried that the Xplosiv version might contain Spyware, like the
"Super Saver" version of the original Motocross Madness had (when
Microsoft turned it over to a third-party publisher.) It's confirmed,
no spyware on the Xplosiv version. I did a full spyware scan before
installing and a full scan after, and didn't find any.
Need For Speed Underground
Q: How do I get the freaking Rear-View Mirror for my car?!
Make sure you're options are set to "Bumper Cam" mode for your favorite cam.
Get into a race. Hit ESC to bring up the options. There will be a Display menu that
will have the "Rear-View" option available to you.
